Hass is the world's favourite avocado variety, with a rich, extra-creamy inside. Its skin turns from green to dark purple-black as it ripens.

How to use: Guacamole, avocado toast, smoothies, salads, sushi, sandwiches and wraps.

Good to know: Rich in healthy fats and fibre.

How to store: If hard, keep at room temperature until the skin darkens and it feels slightly soft. Once ripe, keep in the fridge and use within 2–3 days.
